My first week at Treehouse has been great! I am having a wonderful time getting to know all of my students. They are all such smart kids. This week I introduced some Yoga warm-up exercises in class and the kids had fun creating their own “animal poses” while we listened to some music. I told them a bit about myself and where I am from and they asked many questions and were eager to know more about my home. During science class we studied “the way things move” and we talked about different forces that affect movement. As an experiment, we all made paper airplanes (different sizes and shapes) and tested them to see which ones would fly further. All the children had a chance to fly their planes once inside and once outside. The kids were all interested to see whose plane would go the furthest while they learned about wind as an unpredictable “force.”

Tuesday was an exciting day for the kids as we visited the yogurt factory and had a picnic in the park. The kids had fun learning about how yogurt s made and touring the factory. They were all very entertained watching the machines in action.

I’ve been talking to my class and finding out their interests, and I have exciting and educational activities planned for the month ahead, including science experiments, story-writing, and arts and crafts. The graduation show is also coming up and the students and teachers are very excited to start rehearsals.
